Up until now, you had him filed near Keith Berry, Tim Hecker or guitar that doesn't always sound like guitar: Stars of the Lid, Lovesliescrushing, certain Flying Saucer Attack, certain Growing, certain Windy & Carl.
Now you have to re-organize your music collection by getting a stiff drink and moving him closer to Jesu, My Bloody Valentine or the good early parts of Jesus and Mary Chain. Exhausting.
